Family Advancement Ministries (FAM)
WHO WE ARE: Fund for Life Inc. (dba Family Advancement Ministries) is an organization incorporated in the State of Georgia, and governed by our board of directors. Family Advancement Ministries (FAM) is the organization that was formed on July 1, 2007 through the merger of two ministries that had been operating as separate organizations since their inception in the 1990’s, Nazareth Life Ministries and Mother and Child Ministries. The two groups had been working in close cooperation, and combined their operation in order to streamline the organizations, reduce administrative costs, and seamlessly serve clients. Our 501(c)(3) federal tax-exempt certification is part of a group exemption as granted and listed in The Official Catholic Directory.
We are not a subsidiary of any local church organization, and serve those in the community without regard to race, color, national origin, religious creed, disability, age, marital status, sexual orientation, gender identity, or family composition.
FAM focuses our resources to serve individuals and families (couples and single parents). Last year we helped over 1250 people with emergency financial assistance to prevent eviction and utility cut off, and material assistance for some safety and basic needs including children’s car seats and clothes. To help our clients achieve a lasting change, FAM’s Life Skills Education Program teaches our client/parents key practical skills in personal finance and budgeting, child passenger safety, nurturing parenting, health & safety, and nutrition.
Our ministry seeks to help low-income individuals and families who are in a crisis situation. We screen applicants, serve by appointment, and evaluate each individual, family, and situation for counseling, clothing, car seats, and financial assistance. After we have helped an individual or family, our next step is to give the necessary tools to achieve self-sufficiency, stability, and productivity in order to avoid a similar crisis.
Mission Statement:
Family Advancement Ministries (FAM) is a Christian ministry serving low-income individuals and families in the Middle Georgia area who are experiencing a financial and/or personal crisis. We help with immediate aid, and then address their future potential with our Life Skills Education Program, to empower them to achieve independence and self-sufficiency.
Vision Statement: “helping individuals and families move ahead towards independence and self-sufficiency”
